Dear colleagues,
find all the information in one place. In case you are missing something, just let us know (contacts below).
Transfer from airports
Bratislava airport
If you want to get to the city-center, you can use public transport. You will start at Letisko/Airport station and use bus number 61. Then you will get off the bus at Hlavná stanica (Main railway station) and go to platform D where you will get bus number 93 to stop called Zochova. You will need 1-hour long ticket (it might be less, but to be on the safe side).
If you want to get to any other place, please use google maps, check for the nearest bus stop and then add your start and final destination to this website:
Vienna airport
You can book bus ticket from Vienna airport to Bratislava here:
- www.flixbus.sk (this is costy option)
Usually you can also buy it in the bus, but it can cost double price (10 instead of 5 euro).
Flix bus cost is much higher either way, and it is possible that it wont be possible to buy it in the bus.
Buses run very often, bus stop is just in front of the arrival hall, cross the road and turn right. You will find it.
If you add as your final destination bus station called “Centre – Most SNP” you will get to the city center.
Transfer inside Bratislava
Public transport – most of the places to visit are in walking distance from the venue and hotels, but if you, for example, decide to have evening swim, such as here or here, you can use trams and buses (or taxi).
Taxis – In Bratislava you can use Bolt app if you want to get a taxi. Also Uber. Don´t use local taxis which are standing by the road – they are overpriced. The same for taxes stopped by waving. Simply, use the app instead.
Locations
Sunday dinner in Dunajský pivovar (Danube Brewery)
The place where dinner will be held is called Dunajský pivovar. It is a boat on the Danube river (map).
The nearest tram stop is called Sad Janka Kráľa. You can find search your public transport possibilities on this website: imhd.sk/ba/journey-planner

Where to eat – these are a few tips for restaurants that are worth visiting.
- Bratislavský meštiansky pivovar (map) – very nice atmosphere, especially during summer because you can sit outside on huge terrace. You can find there slovak traditional dishes and they are also brewing their own beers.
- Zylinder (map) – the original cuisine from the Austro-Hungarian monarchic period right on Hviezdoslav Square in the Old town. Bit posh.
- Quinsboro (map) – one of the best burger places in Bratislava. High quality meat and home-made french fries.
- Kolkovňa Eurovea (map) – modern interpretation of classic Czech cuisine, beer snacks and selected specialties of international cuisine. Also the location is very nice – promenade close to Danube river.
- Bamboo Rooftop (map) Vietnamese dishes and amazing view.
- Basilico Dunajská (map) – a really good pizza Napoletana. Very recommended if you like this style of pizza. Its smaller bistro version can be found in even more convenient location (map)
- Divný Janko (map) – restaurant with longtime tradition, typical Slovak dishes and huge portions.
- KC Dunaj (map) – this place is nice if you want to get a beer, there are no food options. But there is very fine view around and it is generally good place to visit if you are visitor from abroad.
